Cindy & Ernie Quick Recap

Cindy and Ernie were a blast to work with.  My assistant and I started with ceremony coverage at the Rookery Building and then headed north to the Chicago Cultural Center for the reception.  Check out the gorgeous glass dome in the quick recap. Lots of good food, good people and good music!  What more could you ask for at a wedding?

As a cool side note, I got  mentioned in the Fall/Winter issue of Chicago Social Brides Magazine (pg 180).

J + S Raw Footage of the Week 7/14/12

For this couple, the flames of love will never be blown out.

Yesterday I had the pleasure of traveling  all over the city with this lovely couple.  This footage was shot by Thane who was working the eye-in-the-sky B-Camera.    I like the vantage point we got from the balcony, this beautiful church and the adorable interaction between the couple.  I still suspect that a groomsman slipped in a trick candle.

A + D Raw Shot of the Week

I love this clip.  If I was going to shoot a movie with a wedding scene, I couldn’t have choreographed this shot any better.  There was no directing.  These are not actors.  This is just a beautiful ball of raw emotion.

In case it wasn’t clear, I love this shot.  A + D you are a beautiful couple and I can’t wait to piece together the rest of your day.

Lauren & Shaun: And Now for Something Completely Different…

Lauren and Shaun tied the knot* in Oak Park, IL at St. Edmund.  After beautiful ceremony that ended with a bubble exit, we headed out to The Hyatt Lodge at Mc Donald’s Campus in Oak Brook for the reception. If you’re looking for a venue with a little bit of forest on the property this is a wonderful fit.

My editing style usually is to keep the colors the  way they were but I think the 8mm feel really worked well for this wedding.

Enjoy!

*(not to be confused with The Knot)

Jeff & Kari

Wow! Has it really been  months since I’ve last updated my blog?  For those of you that don’t know I am a scant two weeks away from my own wedding to my best friend, Victoria Sprung.  I now know what you all are going through when it gets to crunch time.  Well, enough about me…

Jeff and Kari had a fantastically beautiful wedding in Chicago.  Thane and I trekked  Downtown from the ceremony. Next we were back up to the North Avenue Beach for creative portraits and then over to the Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum.  Here’s what you missed:

Lisa & Drew

Happy New Year!  Man 2011 was a great year.   I’m wrapping up editing on the late summer weddings from 2011 so expect more posts soon!.

I shot this cinematic wedding with 3 total shooters and a plethora of cameras in Valparaiso, Indiana.  Having that extra set of eyes on the viewfinder gave me time to get some sweet creative shots.  I also was lucky enough to steal the couple for an extra day of shooting before their nuptials.  This whole project was a ton of work but I had a blast and couldn’t be prouder of the results.  Enjoy!
